gamescom: Football Legends Coming to FIFA 14 Ultimate Team – Only on Xbox

Football (or soccer) fans will have the ultimate FIFA experience when “FIFA 14” launches this fall with legendary footballers, including Pele’, Patrick Viera, Freddie Ljungberg, Ruud Gullit and Gary Linekar, only available in “FIFA 14” Ultimate Team on Xbox One and Xbox 360. Fans will be able to build their “FIFA 14” Ultimate Team with a mix of legendary players on the pitch, alongside today’s stars on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Legendary players Freddi Ljungberg and Ruud Gullit joined EA SPORTS Senior Vice President Matt Bilbey, and Xbox Vice President’s, Phil Spencer and Phil Harrison, to unveil the exclusive “FIFA 14” Ultimate Team offering for Xbox fans at gamescom, in Cologne, Germany. Ljungberg and Gullit were confirmed as two of the first Legends to join “FIFA 14” Ultimate Team on Xbox later this year.

In another crowd-pleasing announcement, Harrison shared that all pre-order Xbox One Day One Edition consoles in Europe will include “FIFA 14.”

Fans Can Create Their Ultimate Dream Team with “FIFA” Ultimate Team

“FIFA 14” will feature FIFA’s award-winning authenticity, a massive online world, and deep innovation in gameplay and services. Ultimate Team is the most popular mode in “FIFA,” with more than 3 million games played daily, and more than 17 million players transferred daily. Fans can truly build their dream teams and now, they can create teams with the stars of today and the heroes of yesterday.

Each Legend will have their own distinct look, unique attributes, and custom biography, and will be randomly included in Gold Packs in “FIFA 14” Ultimate Team on Xbox One and Xbox 360. Fans will be able to acquire Legends in packs or through the Transfer Market, and then compete with their squads in special tournaments that showcase the skills and flair that made each of these players legendary. Each legend will be available in packs for a limited time and at different times throughout the season.
