Ubisoft’s presence in the Chinese mobile-game market took two big steps forward today, with the announcement that – in a continuing partnership with Chinese game publisher Ourpalm – Hungry Shark World and an Assassin’s Creed MMORPG are headed to mobile devices in China. The as-yet-unnamed Assassin’s Creed game is being developed by Ourpalm’s Beijing-based production team in collaboration with Ubisoft Montreal.

No further details have been announced, although Ourpalm’s vice president of operations, Zhang Pei, says that “we’ve got our most experienced team working on the new Assassin’s Creed title, and have high expectations for it.”

Ourpalm acquired the rights to develop the Assassin’s Creed game as part of the deal to bring Hungry Shark World, which was released worldwide for iOS on May 5, to China. Ourpalm will publish the Android version of the expanded sequel to Hungry Shark Evolution (which enjoys a sizable following in China), while Ubisoft will localize and adapt the game for the Chinese market.
