World Cup MVP Carli Lloyd Takes on the Assassin’s Creed Experience -

Thousands of people not only lined up at San Diego Comic-Con 2015 to get time with Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, but also to test their physical skills at the Assassin’s Creed Experience to see if they had what it took to join the Rooks. Among those thousands of people was a very special guest: World Cup champion and MVP Carli Lloyd. After taking on the parkour course, the world-class soccer player set her sites on the city of London and hopped in to try out the hands-on demo. We spoke with Lloyd after her assassin training session to get her thoughts on the game and the Experience.

What did you think of the Assassin’s Creed Experience?

It was really fun. I watch American Ninja Warrior on TV and I think it’s really impressive to be able to do something like that. I have to be a little bit careful when I do things like this because it’s my job to play soccer and I don’t want to get injured, but I did run through the course and I did most of it. I would love to fully do it and try to get the best time because I’m super competitive, but I have to kind of take it easy.

You also just spent some time with the game. Did you enjoy it?

The game was really cool! I’m not a huge gamer, but when they showed me how to play the game and I started messing around with it – moving and jumping around on rooftops – it was fun. I was definitely getting addicted.

Do you wish you could do any of that stuff in real life?

Oh yeah. It would be so cool to be able to jump from building to building, especially when there’s a lot of traffic on the streets and you don’t want to deal with it in your car. You could just climb to the rooftops and get around up there.

You just had a pretty amazing year. Tell me a little bit about how you’re feeling right now.

The year has been crazy. I would say the last six or seven days have been probably some of the best days of my life. From winning the World Cup to having a ticker tape parade in New York City was unreal. And then to be able to come out here and just do different things like Comic-Con and the Assassin’s Creed Experience… There are just so many fun things to do outside of my soccer world. I’m just able to experience so many different things. It’s been great. It’s been a whirlwind and we’ll be prepping for the Olympics soon.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is all about teamwork and working with your gang and your family, and that’s something you know all about from soccer. Do you find yourself relating to that in the game at all?

Absolutely. Soccer is a team sport. There were 23 players on our team for the World Cup and it took every single one of us to get through this and win the whole thing. We always have each other’s backs. If someone makes a mistake, we’re all there to help. It’s very much all about working together and going after the same dream.
