The Best of Ubisoft at E3 2015

For Honor

E3 2015 has come and gone, and it was a busy show for Ubisoft. From the surprise reveals of For Honor and Ghost Recon Wildlands on Monday, to the countless demos and Just Dance-offs inside the booth throughout the week, there was no shortage of amazing new sights and sounds to take in. In case you missed any of it, this list will help get you up to speed on everything you need to know about Ubisoft’s E3 2015 lineup.

For Honor

One of the biggest surprises of E3 2015, For Honor showcased its Dominion mode to the throngs of curious onlookers on the show floor. This multiplayer mode put players in a four-on-four match where they had to fend off waves of enemies and engage other players in a surprisingly deep and visceral combat experience centered around the Art of Battle control system.

Ghost Recon Wildlands

Another big surprise from E3 2015 was the return of Ghost Recon, with an open-world adventure called Ghost Recon Wildlands. Players will play as one in a squad of four elite soldiers (either cooperatively or with AI) charged with infiltrating Bolivia to take down the Santa Blanca drug cartel. The world in GRW is absolutely massive, giving players an opportunity to not only change their strategy based on environmental conditions, but also affect the environment based on decisions they make.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

Assassin siblings Jacob and Evie Frye came out of hiding for the show, with a brand new demo of Jacob chasing down his target on a moving train, and a debut trailer that featured Evie taking out some thugs inside a factory. We also got to play an early portion of the game that gave us a pretty good taste of combat, as well as as sense of just how useful that Rope Launcher is for traversing London’s busy streets.

Rainbow Six Siege

TerroHunt returned at E3 2015, and the popular cooperative mode from previous Rainbow Six games didn’t disappoint in its Rainbow Six Siege debut. The demo was a showcase for crafty enemy AI that really forced teams to stay on their toes at all times, and it gave show-goers a chance to dive into some different classes, getting a feel for their respective abilities and how well they work with those of the other Operatives.

The Division

It was all about the Dark Zone for The Division at this year’s show. These dangerous areas present teams with an opportunity to obtain some great loot, but at the risk of engaging with some nasty individuals, and even with other players whose motivations aren’t entirely clear. Do they want to help, or do they want to take your loot for themselves?

South Park: The Fractured but Whole

Ubisoft kicked off E3 2015 with the surprising reveal of a new South Park game in development at its San Francisco studio. Unlike the last game, which featured fantasy versions of the South Park kids, The Fractured but Whole will give players a glimpse into the superhero side of their personalities.

Anno 2205

Blue Byte revealed a new game in its long-running city-building series at the show. The far-flung future setting opens up a new feature that lets players travel to the moon for the first time in the series. While there, players can mine and harvest precious new resources that will aid in building even bigger and better cities, both on the moon and back on Earth.

Just Dance 2016

Jason Derulo came out on stage to serenade everyone, and then a bunch of people danced in the middle of Ubisoft’s E3 booth. A guy wearing a disco ball on his head danced with a panda bear at one point. The whole situation just got really weird.

Trackmania Turbo

The new Trackmania promises to carry what Trackmania fans love about the series across multiple platforms, including its infamous track editor and overall zany track design. Trackmania Turbo also made a surprise appearance on Sony’s PlayStation 4 VR headset, Morpheus, bringing fans even closer to its rollercoaster-like tracks.

The Crew Wild Run

The new expansion for The Crew wasn’t playable on the show floor, but a trailer gave us an early look at some of the new vehicle types available, including dirt bikes, monster trucks, and drift cars. On top of all that, Wild Run features a new mode, The Summit, that will put players’ driving skills to the test across a variety of terrain.

Trials Fusion: Awesome Level Max

Imagine a cat. Now, imagine this cat wearing a bandanna. What if this bandanna-wearing cat was also brandishing a pistol while riding a fire-breathing unicorn? Combine that with all the traditional elements of a Trials game, and what comes out on the other side is basically Trials Fusion: Awesome Level Max.
