Goodbye, Anne

montage

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. For the past two and a half years, Ubisoft has been my home. I’ve learned so much from this company and the brilliant, kind, dedicated people who work here, and I feel genuinely honored to have been part of this crazy family. I’ve made lifelong friends, worked on incredible projects and met some awesome members of the Ubisoft community. I’ve hung out in dumpsters, taken a leap of faith and photoshopped some really weird pictures of my coworkers. It’s been a wild ride and even though I’m excited for the next chapter of my life, I am so sad to see it come to an end.

I’m going to miss so much about this place. I’ll miss lunches and cat videos with Kimmie, Rainbow Six time with Beadle and Vining with Stone. I’ll miss team meetings that run wildly off-course and devolve into jokes and laughter. I’ll miss the wonderful developers I’ve met and had the privilege of getting to know. I’ll miss the sound of Just Dance tracks filling my entire floor. I’ll even miss the difficult days, because those were the days when everyone came together to help each other solve problems.

The StonevengersYou wouldn’t BELIEVE how long I spent on these dumb photoshops, and I will never let Stone forget it, either.

The people are what made this place for me. Yes, it was a fun job and I am proud of the work I’ve done. But I will miss my colleagues more than anything else. I helped Gary Steinman launch UbiBlog in 2013 and being part of this has been an amazing experience. Working with Giancarlo and Mikel on the blog has been an adventure. Both these guys got dropped into the team right before the insane E3 we had this year and they haven’t had a chance to slow down yet. I know they both have a lot planned for the future, and I can definitely say 2016 is going to be a fun year for Ubisoft.

There’s kind of a running joke among those who know me that I don’t have emotions, but that can’t be true because I am definitely feeling a lot of things right now. I’m sad and anxious and excited and nostalgic and about a million other things I can’t even place. It’s so much easier for me to write about games than feelings, so I guess I’ll cut it off here and say if you ever want to play some Rainbow Six Siege, hit me up on Twitter.

Squad

I’ll catch you on the flip side, kiddos.
