So this appears to be the very first news piece I ever produced for TotalXbox.com, or as it was known in March 2011, OXM.co.uk. Back then, ladies and gentlemen, life was difficult. We didn’t have on-article comments, for one thing – responses had to be sent by carrier pigeon (the pigeons in question were subsequently eaten and turned into hats, as was the custom of the era). In place of the present, smoothly self-arranging design, the site resembled a precarious stack of chipboard and sidebars looted from long-dead internet browsers. And our article introductions were rife with disgraceful, ill-advised jokes about things like colons and the state of North Korea, jokes that are to serious reportage what acid is to a birthday cake. Man, that was a troubled year. Thank heavens things are different today, eh? Oh wait.
